The Ivymount community celebrates the life and mourns the passing of Lillian Davis, one of Ivymount’s founding educators and long-time Assistant Director. Lillian, alongside Shari Gelman, played an instrumental role in building a caring learning environment for students whose needs were not being met.
She dedicated more than three decades to the students and families of Ivymount, helping to foster a culture of adaptation and innovation that would serve the organization well in its formative years and establish a framework that would lead it to its long-term success.
“I loved my job. I couldn’t wait to get in my car and go to work because I never did the same thing two days in a row, it was always something different,” Davis said of Ivymount during its 50th anniversary celebration. “If there is one thing it is the kids; the kids were wonderful.”
Memorial Service
A memorial service for Lillian will be held at 12 pm Thursday, September 7 at Sol Levinson in Baltimore. A virtual option for attending the funeral will also be available. More information can be found here.
