Along with her family and friends, the Ivymount community mourns the loss of one of our own, Autism Program Director, Kimmy Clark. Kimmy passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023 from cancer. Everyone who knew Kimmy experienced her genuine kindness, warmth, no-nonsense approach, expertise, and professionalism. Her contributions will endure through the Ivymount staff she mentored and the culture of learning and collaboration she fostered.

Starting as a teaching assistant in 2001 and for the next 23 years, Kimmy wholeheartedly served her students, their families, and our staff. There was no job too little or too big for her as long as our students were learning, our field was growing, and professionals were the best they could be. Kimmy had a career doing what she loved as a teacher, behavior analyst, advocate, mentor, and supervisor while creating a space where her students, their families, and our staff collaborated, grew, and learned together.

Memorial Service
A memorial service for Kimmy will be held at 3 pm, Saturday, June 10 in The Maret School’s auditorium (3000 Cathedral Ave NW, Washington, DC, 20008) with a reception to follow in the Atrium.

Kimmy’s family has suggested that contributions in her name may be made to Ivymount, in honor of her impactful career and legacy. To donate, visit the Ivymount Support Us page.
