Ivymount School and Programs is committed to the health and safety needs of the Ivymount School, Ivymount Outreach, and Maddux School student populations. We appreciate your support and flexibility as we’ve responded to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation.

With careful thought and planning, the Ivymount School and Programs team is working towards bringing students back to campus in September. It is extremely likely that this will involve a hybrid model that includes both in-person and remote instruction.

We are gathering feedback from families while also making modifications to the building, stockpiling personal protective equipment, developing training for employees, and improving the Continuity of Learning program used in the Spring and Summer sessions.

We will continue to provide the Ivymount community with regular updates by email and through our website.

Although we’re not together on campus, Ivymount School and Programs is here to help.

We remain dedicated to our mission to serve people with autism and other developmental disabilities, to support their families, and to keep our community strong. We have embarked on an entirely new mode of instruction for our students – a continuing learning model that will encourage both structure and flexibility during this unprecedented time. Our continuity of learning plans will provide students of The Ivymount School and The Maddux School with staff-led instruction and support, and independent and age-appropriate self-paced work. We are pleased to offer e-services to our current Outreach Programs.

We understand that remote programs and services cannot replace the typical school day and programs students receive in our buildings, and we recognize the effort that will be required from parents and caregivers to make an e-learning model successful. Our teams will consider each student’s needs and we will work in partnership with families – working together, while apart.

In this time of uncertainty, Ivymount will continue to provide frequent and transparent communications about how national, regional and local decisions impact our programs, and how we are adjusting to meet your needs. Program directors and teachers will reach out to families directly. Ivymount School and Programs will also send occasional updates by email. These communications will continue to be posted to this website.
